Our Team
Unity Harbour is led by a team of mission-driven individuals—many of whom have personally experienced displacement, legal uncertainty, or exclusion under shifting regional policies. Their dedication fuels our vision for safer, more connected communities. While they currently serve as volunteers, our long-term plan includes equitable compensation structures that recognize the value of lived experience and service.

Total Startup Costs: $80,217
A breakdown of how these funds were allocated is outlined below:
🏕️ Startup Costs (RV, Equipment, Essential Supplies) – $32,653 (40.7%)
These foundational investments enabled the initial launch of Unity Harbour’s operations. Expenses included acquisition of a multi-use RV unit, construction and infrastructure tools, and essential startup materials to support on-site living and nonprofit programming.
📣 Fundraising and Outreach Events – $16,138 (20.1%)
These costs were associated with our 2024 “Dystopian Needs” initiative and related events. Activities included outreach campaigns, giveaway items, and event logistics aimed at raising awareness, building networks, and expanding support for our mission.
🫱 Direct Support to Individuals – $7,226 (9.0%)
Unity Harbour provided tangible support to individuals in crisis during our startup year, including emergency shelter, access to supplies, and community-based resources.
🧾 Modest Founder Compensation (1099-MISC) – $4,200 (5.2%)
A portion of funds was allocated for limited compensation to Unity Harbour’s founder in recognition of extensive labor, administrative setup, and unpaid field coordination. This was reported in accordance with federal requirements for independent contractor income (Form 1099-MISC).
🏞️ RV Park Reserve (Reallocated for Direct Support and Site Development) – $20,000 (24.9%)
Originally reserved to secure long-term development of our Colorado RV park site, this funding was reallocated in 2025 to meet more urgent needs as zoning approvals were delayed. The majority of the funds supported:
- Survivors of displacement and abuse, offering shelter, transport, and emergency stabilization
- RV campground operations, including maintenance, access, and foundational prep work to maintain continuity while we re-enter the investor and infrastructure development phase
This use of funds reflects Unity Harbour’s adaptive model, prioritizing direct aid and community care when legal timelines shift, while continuing to pursue our long-term cooperative housing goals.
